For those Windows applications that aren't already FLEXenabled, your IT team can use AdminStudio software packaging solution to inject license tracking capabilities into them – a process known as FLEXwrapping – before deployment, making them visible to FLEXnet Manager.

Back-Office Applications
For those back-office applications, like Oracle datacenters, that aren’t already FLEXenabled, you can use the new Extensible Monitoring add-on to define and monitor software usage as it relates to unique business needs and vendor contract terms. FLEXnet Manager has a new database-powered reporting engine that gives you the accurate license usage data you need faster than ever.
With the new engine powered by Cognos 8, you can now run queries against the FLEXnet Manager database to quickly generate detailed, accurate licensing reports. You can also use the third-party or custom reporting tools of your choice to query the database.

If you're currently using SAM products, you will instantly notice how the speed and accuracy of this new database-powered engine makes FLEXnet Manager reporting far superior to SAM.

 

FLEXnet Manager now includes a new built-in report that makes it easier for you to anticipate and prevent license denials.

The report displays trends in your license usage, showing you the days and times when it's at its maximum and minimum, so you can see when the probability of denials will be high and take appropriate action.

FLEXnet Manager now generates reports on the number of unique users running specific features at a given time.

Whenever upcoming maintenance could cause server downtime, you can now use this report to only notify people using the impacted features.

FLEXnet Manager gives you more visibility into and control over your license environment with new agent support.

There is a new screen that lists all registered agents, their health, and the license servers those agents are managing. The FLEXnet Manager console also gives you the power to remove a specific agent, remove orphaned license servers and vendor daemons, and unregister an agent.

 

FLEXnet Manager now makes it easy for specific administrators to be assigned responsibility for server and agent subsets.
